Catherine Ford was born Bloomsbury in London. Because her father's death the family, it was managed by her grandmother, mom, and godparents. While a small infant, Ford struggled with obsessive/compulsive disorders and anxiety caused by the word association. Ford's passion for acting started as a child. She joined at the National Youth Theatre. She had been accepted to Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just a few days, she concluded that this school wasn't right for her. Ford instead applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama and was able to secure the position on her 4th application. Her classmate were Shaun Dingwall, who would be later reprise her role in the role of Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford was able to graduate in 1993, but she already made a TV appearance on a show in 1992 called Surgical Spirit. She adopted the name Catherine Tate. Tate began her TV debut in 1991and appeared on television shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. as well as London's Burning. Tate would also frequently work in the theatre, and later joined the Royal Shakespeare Company during its season of 2000-2001. Tate was recognized for her comedy stand-up and has been added to her portfolio in 1996.
